MAY 5, 2010 - In early evening at our feeders, a male and female n.
cardinals appeared together, and Pat saw the male feed a sunflower
seed to the female. We haven't seen or heard any cardinals here at
home for at least a week or 10 days, and I suspected our resident
pair was nesting somewhere not far away. Yesterday evening Harold
Forsyth heard one distantly in our direction from the Acadia Univ.
Botanical Gardens.

Also at the feeders, once again we have a big adult Norway rat. Also
there was a red squirrel there today, and the rat chased the squirrel
away from the burrows and feeders.

MAY 6, 2010 - Cock and hen ring-necked pheasants were together at the
feeders this morning, plus a few Am. goldfinches, bl-c. chickadees,
starlings, crows.
