[ValleyNature] 90 Wolfville chimney swifts May 26/09

May 26, 2009 - ROBIE TUFTS NATURE CENTRE in Wolfville at dusk: a  
total of 90 CHIMNEY SWIFTS were counted as they entered the chimney  
very gradually from 8:41 to 9:07 p.m. (Sunset 8:47) -- observations  
were over nearly exactly the same time period (8:40 to 9:12), so that  
possibly a few early entries were missed -- sky mostly clear, quite  
windy and cool, 12 C. -- observers Judy Tufts, Jim Wolford, and a few  
others.  I think 90 swifts is a new record, since over the past three  
seasons our highest count of swifts in one evening was 80.
