[ValleyNature] 53+ Wolfville chimney swifts May 19/09

MAY 19, 2009 - Another check on Wolfville's Robie Tufts Nature Centre  
chimney at dusk for CHIMNEY SWIFTS: I was late getting there at 8:37  
and watched until 9:00 p.m. (Sunset time 8:39) -- swifts were low  
over the chimney already on my arrival, and entries began at 8:42 and  
continued until about 8:50 p.m. -- about 53+ CHIMNEY SWIFTS in total  
were counted as they went into the chimney -- weather excellent but  
cool at 11 C., clear sky, calm -- bright night but cool conditions,  
and tonight there was no traffic to and from the liquor store, so  
that I could hear the swifts well several times -- observers Gisela  
Westphalen and Jim Wolford.
