[ValleyNature] Barrow's & Common Goldeneyes + Oldsquaw/Long-tailed Duck at Port Wms.

MAR. 11, 2009 - BIG HIGH TIDE at 1:30 p.m. -- In Port Williams sewage
ponds (north pond mostly ice-free now) in afternoon, about 25
MALLARDS, a gorgeous male OLDSQUAW or LONG-TAILED DUCK in winter
plumage (seen earlier by Richard Stern)(spent several minutes
preening and bathing and sitting on piece of ice), and 6 GOLDENEYES:
2 definite BARROW'S GOLDENEYES (m,f), 1 male COMMON GOLDENEYE, and
3 ? female ?COMMON GOLDENEYES (2 had orange-tipped beaks and heads
shaped a bit like Barrow's, 3rd one had totally dark beak and more
normal-looking head-shape).
