FEB. 9, 2009 - At our home feeders we have a striking BLACK-CAPPED
CHICKADEE with an ALL-WHITE TAIL.

I have become aware of two sightings recently in our area of SHRIKES,
presumably NORTHERNS: Glenys Gibson has seen one in her yard off and
on for weeks in Canning; and about a week ago there was one along the
west end of Old Post Road at Grand Pre, seen by Brenda & Bill Thexton.

FEB. 11, 2009 - This morning an immature SHARP-SHINNED HAWK tried for
breakfast in our yard, but missed. No sign of our eastern towhee
since it was seen on Feb. 7 by the two Clarence Stevenses. ROBINS
are seen daily in Wolfville, today about 10+.

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville
