[ValleyNature] white red-tailed hawk there Sunday

FEBRUARY 1, 2009 - EAGLE WATCH WEEKEND II, Sunday -- A bunch of us  
did our 28th ANNUAL CYRIL K. COLDWELL EAGLES/RAPTORS COUNT OF EASTERN  
KINGS COUNTY today.  I will report the results soon, hopefully, when  
all the information is gathered.

At the Kenny farm at Hortonville (s. of Hwy. 101 overpass at Exit  
10), after Nelson Poirier couldn't find it over the two previous  
days, the NEARLY-ALL-WHITE RED-TAILED HAWK was right back where I  
always look for it, perched in the tree just south of the farm- 
house.  I also got nice scoped views to confirm it is our old friend  
who overwinters in this area every year, since 2000? or earlier.
